Hello
Hi! My name is Anna Hwang, and I used to teach in high school mathematics at a local public high school. I got my BA in Mathematics and MA in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Professionally I have worked in the classroom for 2 year before having my own two beautiful daughters (currently ages 10 and 12). I have worked at multiple tutoring companies, private tutored, and am a stay at home and homeschool mom and I absolutely love it!
Learning is a lifelong journey

All through high school, I remember volunteering in math help during my lunch hours and helping other kids in algebra, trig, and geometry. I also worked as a swim instructor, an ice skating instructor, and babysat kids! My early experience in working with and helping kids eventually became my lifelong passion and calling.

I have taught HS Algebra, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Geometry, and ACT/SAT prep for mathematics. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, I felt a calling to step up and help kids of all ages feel successful and to have FUN with math learning. My own kids were remotely learning for a year and I witnessed the struggle of teachers trying to teach online and felt the call for me to take action. I wanted to step up and help and offer support the only way I know how.

Thus, I entered the world of online teaching and I have never looked back! I fell in love with online teaching almost immediately! After a year of online teaching through Zoom, I also started homeschooling my own two kids, and most recently started teaching and posting tiktok math videos! I am absolutely intrigued by this new world of ONLINE teaching and so inspired by the overwhelming support and feedback I received that I am taking this bold leap of faith to start this new math world. My goal and hope is to fuel and support you in your learning journey. I truly believe learning is a life-long journey that never stops. Aside from teaching mathematics, I also have a passion for and love teaching about faith, art, dance, science, ice skating, and music (piano).

Teachers and parents, I want to help you build an online mathematics learning community that is easy to navigate and helpful! Feel free to use all my online free resources, study guides, videos (if they are helpful), in your teaching!

Students, I want you to feel encouraged and have FUN in learning math concepts and trying new things. Ask math questions, comment and respond to others' questions, and you're always welcome to join my live group class sessions! I want to create and build a friendly, respectful, and fun online environment that fosters learning at its core. I am so glad you're here! =)

Let's learn and grow and do this thing together.

My passion
My favorite class of all time was sitting in my BC Calculus class as a senior in high school. I can still remember exactly how the chairs in that classroom was set up and how enthusiastic my Calculus teacher was during every class. I'll be honest, I struggled to keep up in my math classes in high school. I always went into the teacher's lunch hour to get extra help almost daily. I worked hard, studied hard, and in the end I passed my AP Calculus Exam and did better than I ever could have imagined! This just proves to show that if you work hard and put in the time and dedication, you will see immeasurable growth. Period.
